Chapter two
Captivate
ˈkaptɪveɪt/
verb
past tense: captivated; past participle: captivated
Attract and hold the interest and attention of; charm.
"he was captivated by her beauty"
The first words that entered my mind was 'consuming' or 'obsessive' but the words alone don't shed a great light with its negative connotations.
I find myself wanting to write about things that capture my attention, things that I can obsess over, things that are used for comfort. Fangirling became the norm when I was a teenager and even as an adult, I love talking and writing about things that I'm passionate about. I like the escape.
Whether it's Marvel or Harry Potter or One Direction - I like the people I meet through these captivating topics and I like that they make me feel like I'm a part of something bigger.
