That Song You Have On Repeat

My writers block has officially LEFT THE BUILDING, which means I'm back in business, bitchesssssss. (I try and keep my posts PG but damn do I fail miserably).
Anyyhoooooo, back to the matter at hand. We all have one. Mine tends to change every couple of months, but there's one song that I ALWAYS come back to! Sometimes I can go weeks, even months without listening to it, but it's always there. Waiting for me in every playlist, ready to be played.
My current 'on repeat' song(s) (I actually have two) is:
- One Republic: I Lived
- Craig David ft. Bastille: I Know You
I think everyone has a different reason for having a song struck on repeat. Some like the beat of the song, some like the words and others like that it links to something that is happening or has happened in their life. I tend to fall in love with a single line in the song. I don't know why, it's always a line that I look forward to hearing in the entire song.
In One Republic's 'I Lived', my favourite line is 'Hope if everybody runs, you choose to stay'. 90% of the time, I can relate to that line in the song, 10% of the time I just like to think about what it would feel like to live that line. It's such a weird way to fall in love with a song, but it works.
In Craig David's 'I Know You', my favourite line is 'strangers start to look like friendly face', cause damn we've all had those moments. Whether it's when you're absolutely shit faced, or when you're moving from city to city, you reach that point when everyone just starts looking familiar. Plus, Dan Smith sounds like fucking heaven in that verse.
I'd say music is one of the best forms of expression. Sometimes, it's a way to express yourself to someone else, and sometimes it's a way for you to understand your own feelings. I can listen to a song, enjoy the words and have no idea why. Later down the line, I realise the reason why I liked the song is because it related to something that I haven't been able to express to myself yet.
My ultimate on repeat song [and 'go back to' song] is Ed Sheeran- Kiss Me. If you haven't heard the song, I highly recommend it. His voice is soft, guitar gentle. The words are absolutely stunning and no matter what I'm feeling through the day or night, I can always count on that song to warm my heart.
And you guessed it, I have a favourite line in that song too. And this is how I'll end it:
'I'm falling for your eyes, but they don't know me yet...'
Stay lovely xx.
